Jonathan Jonisch, MD
Following his residency he underwent specialized fellowship training in medical and surgical diseases of retina and vitreous at the prestigious Barnes Retina Institute at Washington University in St Louis, Missouri. He served as a Clinical Instructor at Washington University as well as leading the Retina Service at the John Cochran VA Hospital. Dr Jonisch is an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at the Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine where he teaches medical school students and ophthalmology residents and has served on the Faculty Council of the medical school. He is on the board of managers of the Northwell Health Accountable Care Organization, is a board member of the Garden City & Syosset Surgery Centers, and served as President of the Long Island Ophthalmology Society in 2020.
Dr. Jonisch lectures at national and international meetings and has published numerous papers in peer reviewed medical journals as well as contributing to book chapters on macular degeneration.
