VRC is Proud to Welcome Our Newest Physician, Dr. Albert Li
Vitreoretinal Consultants of NY is proud to welcome Dr. Albert Li, the newest physician at our practice! Dr. Li is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical management of vitreous and retina diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, myopia, retinal vascular disease, retinal detachment, macular pucker, macular hole, and cataract complications. He is also a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
From a young age, Dr. Li demonstrated a firm aptitude for medical care and research. As a Chemical and Physical Biology undergrad student at Harvard, he was not only inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society but was also awarded the Thomas Temple Hoopes Prize for having one of the best undergraduate research theses. He graduated magna cum laude with the highest honors.
He went on to earn his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and complete his ophthalmology residency at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine at North Shore University Hospital. During his final year of residency, he served as chief resident. He also completed his vitreoretinal fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine.
In addition to treating patients, Dr. Li is actively involved in clinical research and the education of medical students specializing in ophthalmology. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
